Christine Mallard of Mansfield Legacy High in Texas and Takiya Cenci of Clovis North High in California, both USC signees, finished first and third in the girls 400 meters at the Brooks PR Invitational in Seattle. Mallard ran 52.12 seconds to eclipse the meet record of 52.62 and Cenci ran 53.39 for the No. 12 performance in meet history. The meet record was first set by Ziyah Holman of Georgetown Day School in 2019 and then equaled last year by Kennedi Sanders of Madison-Ridgeland Academy in Mississippi.
